Julia Devon Cohen is painter, designer and art director based in the Tampa Bay area.
Julia’s love of art began in high school, often painting her lunches away in the art room. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, School of Design, Julia spent the bulk of her career as a designer and art director at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. She chose to leave Hallmark after many years to spend more time with her family and to pursue an art career. Julia recently moved to Lutz, Florida with her husband and three children.
Inspired by her design background, Julia enjoys manipulating negative space in her acrylic paintings. She is drawn to florals, often playing with the level of abstraction and color variations. Julia also enjoys working with paper crafts, mixing her love of color with collage.
The process of creating and sharing her work fuels Julia’s commitment to her art.
